ribon is a young girls phonebook magazine and it's probably the most popular abroad. most of all it contains love stories or majokko stories(the ones with little witches) and many famous authors work for it: wataru yoshizumi, youko maki, arina tanemura or authors like ai yazawa and miho obana that started on ribon before passing on cookie. ribon always goes out with some furoku, i.e. some cute accessories like pencils or bags or cards or notepads.... etc....
ribon has two sister magazines:
*ribon original: (every two months) it contains one or two running strories, a lot of short stories and some special stories of the ribon main series.
*ribon bikkuri: (a couple of time each year) it contains new mangakas' stories.
